Well, ladies and gentlemen, it’s official. Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James, will be coming to a theater near you on July 16, 2021. The film is a sequel to the 1996 smash hit Space Jam, which starred Michael Jordan. Space Jam featured the basketball superstar teaming up on the court with Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes gang to defeat the “Monstars.”
Space Jam is one of the most timeless sports films created, so the existence of a Space Jam 2 has garnered much controversy. A massive debate among the sports world of whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time already exists, and this film only fuels the fire.
Regardless, we think it’ll be fun to see the TuneSquad back in action for the first time in nearly 30 years. Are you excited for Space Jam 2, or is the first one untouchable to you? Let us know on Twitter and Instagram!
